THE INVITATION TO PARTICIPATION
Many of you may not know that my great nephew, Cooper, was born at 24 weeks, below is a short synopsis from Ashlynn, his mom.
“A MIRACLE: We have come so far- born 1 lb 12 ounces, he got staph at 2 pounds, 3 stomach surgeries, ostomy bag, g-tube (feeding tube), central IV line, several e-rays, ventilator. Today marks 7 months old for Mr. Cooper!!! Pat and I are so very proud of him. He amazes us everyday. He is definitely our Miracle!!! The Lord has never given up on us; He has calmed many storms. Thank you Jesus for loving us. Happy 7 months old to our little Hero!”
Several days ago as I was updating his Prayer for Cooper Facebook page I had a thought that turned into a WOW moment and this morning God added to my WOW moment again.
We now have 122 members who have committed to pray into this little life \0/ may the Lord our God be glorified.
THOUGHT: God gave Cooper an invitation to live and to fight, Cooper little as he was accepted God’s invitation. He did not know what it was to live or fight, however, God had other invitations which were given to us initiating us to build a wall of praise and prayer around Cooper and we said yes Lord we accept Your invitation.
Surgeries have come and gone and Cooper is strong, healthy, full of life, and a true warrior. In all of this the more we lift him up before God’s face, the more we give ourselves to this invitation on Cooper’s behalf, the more we are becoming like minded with the heart and will of God in all of His ways AND Cooper is growing in his life.
God does not carelessly give out invitations. He knows that those who accept will be painfully challenged, and yet as we are so we begin to arise in fresh faith believing that what God said (no matter how long ago may have been) that He would surely keep His word.
God speaks to all of us in various ways and sometimes it may be in a dream, signpost, song, a word from a friend, or from the sweet melody of a bird on a beautiful spring morning, discount none of these ways for surely God will not be put in our doctrinal boxes, He actually gets pleasure from smashing our boxes so we can be spiritually, mentally, emotionally, socially, and physically free to live, move and have our being in Him.
So I will call you up to the higher place in the spirit and say to you as God said to Cooper. I say to you live! Stand up in your faith and move forth knowing as you do God is right there with you and waiting for you. This too is an invitation to each of us. Look at Cooper he is still very dependant on being taken care of for everything, yet he has so many who are there with him and for him, and SO DO YOU.

Don’t you just love it when you have a thought and God confirms it in His word! Well this is exactly what happened to me with the thought on invitation. I know the Bible tell us that many are called but few are chosen, Matthew 24:14, and this is an invitation, however this morning as I was reading Acts 2 it, the invitation jumped out and kissed me wide awake!
Acts 2:39 For the promise [of the Holy Spirit] is to and for you and your children, and to and for all that are far away, [even] to and for as many as the Lord our God invites and bids to come to Himself.
This is an invitation to participation not only with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit, the host of heaven, but also to participate with all that God is doing on this earth.
Okay and how do we do that? We trust the very One who gave us the invitation to participation.
It’s not about doing what “I” want to do, or going where “I” want to go, but it is being about the Fathers’ business. Scripture tells us that at age 12 Jesus told His parents; “didn’t you know I must be about My Fathers’ business” Luke 2:49.
Now how do we do that? We engage-participate with Him in our prayer time, we actively listen to His heart and receive His desires, then honoring Him we step out in obedient faith, and if at any time we miss it, He is there to help us get it right!
It really is all about obedience to the Invitation to Participation. In looking over the lives of the disciples how many got it right most of the time? Yet Jesus was there to teach, train, encourage, strengthen, and promote them while He was in the flesh, and then via the Holy Spirit. Therefore because He is the same yesterday, today and forever, (Hebrews 13:8) we can expect the very same from Him.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].
May we be those who daily earnestly and diligently seek Him out, for surely He will be found by us!
This invitation to Participation is still valid for all who will receive and embrace it.
This is another WOW moment for many who will read and take this to heart…we may not perfect, but the Perfect One lives in us and His Name is Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, and we belong to Him, Amen.
